Today we are going to discuss small changes you can make to your routine that are going to improve your health.
The first tip that I'm going to recommend is that you put aside the soda, put aside the juices, anything sugary, unhealthy and replace it with water. There's so many drinks out there that have so many added sugars that you might not even be aware of and they just do nothing good for your health. Water on the other hand, is calorie free and hydrates you. It's pure and has so many different benefits. If you add more water to your routine and put aside anything that's not water and not healthy and sugary, that is going to be a huge step for your health.
Next up, I can't stress the importance of getting enough sleep. It really helps to keep a consistent routine, so go to bed at the same time every night, wake up at the same time every morning, and you're going to find yourself getting plenty of sleep. Get your seven or eight hours, whatever you need. You will start feeling more restful if you keep a consistent routine. This is going to make a huge change for your health if you're already not getting enough sleep.
Next is to add exercise to your life wherever possible. So this means, if you drive to the store, park far away in the parking lot, so that way, you'll have to walk a few extra steps to get into the door or if you have the option of taking an elevator or stairs, take the stairs. These small changes won't feel like much and they won't add much time to your routine but it adds up for your health. Another small change that you can make to your routine is exercising in the morning. It really helps to get the blood flowing at least a little bit, so I would encourage you to spend five to ten minutes just stretching, doing some jumping jacks, just get your body moving.
I love the mantra light - movement - hydration. I got it from the Skinny Confidential and it's really had a positive impact on my life. So when you first wake up that means...
- Light - You'll want to turn on the lights and open the blinds the moment you wake up.
- Movement - Get yourself moving, maybe do a few jumping jacks or do squats while you brush your teeth.
- Hydration - Drink a glass of water. You could add some lemon and mint to it fix it up, but it's really important to hydrate your body first thing in the morning.
